Russell is the Applied Physics Lead at Lelfy. He writes and reviews guides on mechanics, electromagnetism, optics, thermodynamics, measurement, and uncertainty. His work begins with physical setups: a cart on a ramp, a coil beside a compass, a lens and screen, or a cooling container. He uses these arrangements to make forces, fields, images, heat transfer, and error visible before introducing formal notation.

Before teaching physics, he worked in applied optics and instrumentation. He assembled optical paths, aligned components, checked detectors, and traced faults through complete systems. That work taught him to treat calibration, repeatability, and recorded conditions as part of the result. It also taught him that a neat reading can still be misleading when the apparatus is poorly arranged or the measuring range is wrong.
