The Lelfy Editorial Team and library

Lelfy is a free learning hub published by Grid Pulsar. Every guide, article, quiz and lab is credited to the Lelfy Editorial Team. Pages carry the team credit rather than the names of individual writers. The library is for high school students and adults teaching themselves.

Lelfy publishes 227 topic guides across ten school subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Economics, Business, Marketing and Computer Science. The library also contains ten subject hubs and 75 articles. It includes 100 topic quizzes and 23 interactive labs, alongside a free culture-fair IQ test and a free Big Five personality test.

The house style guide

Every guide and article is written to one house style guide. This shared style accounts for the consistent way the library reads from one subject to the next. Its requirements apply across the guides and articles, whatever subject they cover.

The house style guide calls for plain language. An explanation must describe how an idea works, rather than only give its name. Each concept is tied to a place where it is used. The account of a concept therefore includes its use as well as an explanation of how it works.

Checks before publication

Before publication, every guide and article goes through a separate check of its facts. It also receives a check against the house style guide. These checks address both the information on the page and the way that information is explained. Guides do not quote figures that cannot be supported. They do not link to sources that cannot be checked.

Every quiz answer key receives a separate fact check before publication. Each quiz is also checked for clues in the wording of its options. The correct answer must not be guessable from that wording alone. Checking the key and checking for these clues are both part of the checks before a quiz is published.

Corrections and questions

Corrections and questions go to [email protected]. A reported error is checked against the page concerned. If the page is wrong, it is corrected. This check concerns the content of the reported page, so a correction follows the finding that the content is wrong. The same contact address receives questions about Lelfy.

Advertising and editorial content

Lelfy shows ads from Google AdSense. Google's systems choose and place the ads. The Lelfy Editorial Team does not choose them or write their content. Advertising shown on a page is therefore selected through Google AdSense, separately from the guides and articles credited to the team.

No advertiser can pay to change a guide or buy a place in the library. Lelfy carries no sponsored articles and no affiliate links. It accepts no paid placement of any kind. Advertising operates through Google AdSense; payment does not give an advertiser a place in the editorial library or a say in a guide's content.

Reader data and cookies

Lelfy uses Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager. It also counts page views with software it hosts itself. Reading the library requires no account or sign up. There is no newsletter to join, and readers do not need to provide account details to open a guide.

Google AdSense uses advertising cookies. A reader can turn off personalised ads in Google's My Ad Center. The privacy policy explains the cookies and the choices available to readers. These advertising cookies operate on a site that is free to read and does not require an account.

Limits of educational material

Lelfy's material is educational. Its guides and articles explain subjects for study, and its quizzes and labs form part of that learning library. The material is not medical, legal or financial advice. A reader facing a real decision in any of those areas should speak to a qualified professional. The publication checks described here apply to educational content; they do not make that content professional advice for a reader's decision.
